Getting everyone fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is now Malaysia’s top priority. We have seen multiple vaccination centres (PPVs) open in quick succession, walk-in vaccinations introduced, and over 1,000 clinics and private hospitals mobilised for vaccinations. Our frontliners are tirelessly delivering over five doses of COVID-19 vaccine every second for a daily total of around 456,966. Thanks to them, more than 40% of our population is fully vaccinated; at these rates, we may hit 70% by late September 2021.

With each passing day, the National COVID-19 Immunisation Programme comes one step closer to achieving herd immunity and Homage Malaysia has been proud to be part of this Herculean effort. Homage has over 300 nurses deployed in 22 PPVs within major states in Peninsular Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Ipoh, Penang and Johor) to accelerate the country’s vaccination efforts. To date, Homage’s nurses alone have administered over 500,000 vaccines.

PC Gan, Country Manager at Homage Malaysia

Commenting on Homage’s role in boosting the nationwide vaccination rate, PC Gan, Country Manager at Homage Malaysia said, “Achieving this milestone would not have been possible without our nurses and the larger Homage team working round-the-clock to serve Malaysians in these times. We come ever closer to achieving herd immunity, which is the only way for us to emerge from this pandemic. We must play our part as Malaysians in supporting our frontliners to ensure vaccine delivery is a success.”

Beyond providing vaccinations, Homage has also supported the wider COVID-19 battle in Malaysia with expanded services such as in-home and corporate swab tests, along with vaccination escort services. This ensures that vulnerable and high-risk groups have safer access to COVID-19 testing and vaccination, reducing the strain on the healthcare system and contributing to improved overall population health.

“Despite the healthcare ecosystem still being inundated with COVID-19 cases daily, it is encouraging that there are fewer COVID-19 patients in Category 4 and 5, and over 80% of adults in the Klang Valley are vaccinated. Homage is proud to contribute to the cause by administering help and manpower wherever possible, and we will continue to do so as long as necessary. There is light at the end of the tunnel, but the battle is far from over – and we will keep fighting the good fight,” added PC Gan.
