
The Digital Ninja #GirlsInTech programme aims to inspire and empower young women to pursue Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) courses.
Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital (KKD) Teo Nie Ching recently officiated the launch of the Digital Ninja #GirlsInTech programme in conjunction with International Girls in ICT Day 2023.
Participants in the programme have previously excelled in a series of competitions, held in collaboration with the private sector and local universities. They had the opportunity to participate in special digital skills training, leadership bootcamps, and are provided industry training on top of guidance on applying for scholarships and university placements.
The participants were exposed to various technology and digital skills, soft skills, and entrepreneurship skills from industry experts. They also had the opportunity to network with iconic female figures in the ICT field.

The launch event, which took place from 7 to 8 September 2023, saw the participants travelled from the Kuala Lumpur KTM Station to Batu Gajah KTM Station in Perak on a specially hired Malayan Railway (KTM) coach. From there, they continued on to Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) in Seri Iskandar.
The launch was also attended by the Secretary-General of KKD, YBhg. Datuk Mohamad Fauzi bin Md Isa, and the Chairman of MDEC, YB Tuan Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh.
