TPLink Distribution Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (“TP-Link Malaysia”) has signed a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with New Era University College, reinforcing its commitment to developing industry-ready enterprise networking talent in Malaysia. The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and evolving industry requirements by integrating enterprise networking capabilities, professional certification pathways, and practical industry exposure into the student learning experience.
Through the partnership, TP-Link Malaysia will deploy its Omada enterprise networking solutions within New Era University College’s learning environment, enabling students to gain hands-on experience with infrastructure that mirrors real-world business networks. The collaboration will also include technical workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, and access to the Omada Certified Network Administrator (OCNA) certification pathway, allowing students to develop industry-recognised networking competencies.
Beyond classroom learning, students will benefit from industrial training and internship opportunities with TP-Link Malaysia, providing practical exposure and a clearer pathway from university into the technology workforce.
Cai Zhenbiao, Regional Director of TP-Link Malaysia, said, “As organisations continue to accelerate their digital transformation efforts, the demand for professionals with the ability to support and manage modern technology infrastructure continues to grow. Developing this talent requires closer collaboration between industry and academia to ensure students are equipped with knowledge that is aligned with real-world needs. Through our partnership with New Era University College, we aim to contribute our industry expertise and provide students with meaningful exposure to enterprise technologies and practices.”
“Higher education institutions play an important role in preparing graduates for an increasingly technology-driven economy. By collaborating with industry partners such as TP-Link Malaysia, we are able to enhance our students’ learning journey by connecting academic knowledge with practical applications and industry perspectives. This partnership reflects our commitment to providing students with opportunities to develop relevant skills and better prepare them for future career opportunities,”said Asst. Prof. Dr. Ang Yang Yi, Dean of Faculty of Computing and Innovative Technology, New Era University College.
Both organisations will also explore opportunities for further collaboration in research initiatives, technical knowledge exchange, and engagement between industry professionals and academic experts, strengthening the connection between industry practice and academic learning.
