The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) through Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), has announced the launch of PEMANGKIN Digital AgTech and hence, welcomes cross collaborations towards the development of Digital AgTech Analytics (DATA) platform.

Aligned with the Malaysia Digital (MD) promoted sector, the PEMANGKIN DATA platform is an initiative that empowers farmers and agribusinesses nationwide with cutting-edge technology of real-time insights on productivity and predictive analytics which would address national food security.

The platform is equipped with an array of features from precision farming to crop health monitoring, weather forecasting, market insights, resource management, and farm performance analytics, all at the fingertips.

Through this innovative approach, farmers are able to make informed decisions and improve productivity while minimising their environmental footprint. The PEMANGKIN DATA platform is expected to generate productivity insights from more than 500 new deployed Digital AgTech projects and over 60,000 trained farmers across the nation.

The event also witnessed a significant milestone with the exchange of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with key ecosystem partners, namely Lembaga Pertubuhan Peladang (LPP), Department of Agriculture (DOA), University Putra Malaysia (UPM), and Agrobank. The signings will further solidify collaborations and pave the way for joint initiatives to accelerate the digital transformation.

Present at the launch were Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital, YB Teo Nie Ching; Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, YB Chan Foong Hin; Chairman of MDEC, YB Tuan Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh and Chief Executive Officer of MDEC, Ts. Mahadhir Aziz.
