Epson has recently refreshed its current EcoTank line-up with the launch of 13 new models with improved features to suit customers’ evolving printing needs at home or in the office.
Known for its printhead’s durability, integrated ink tank design and spill-free ink bottles, the EcoTank offers one of the lowest total costs of ownership in the market.
“Our refreshed EcoTank lineup offers new and enhanced features that can benefit home and office printer users in today’s hybrid workplace. Powered by Epson’s revolutionary Heat-Free Technology, these new printers not only provide better quality and productivity, they can also help to transform the way our customers work by managing environmental impact through efficient printing,” said Daisuke Hori, Managing Director of Epson Malaysia.
Turn Down the Heat: Printing with Less Environmental Impact
Epson’s new range of EcoTank printers uses Heat-Free Technology to deliver advanced benefits over laser and thermal inkjet technology. EcoTank printers require no heat in the ink ejection process, delivering consistent high-speed printing with significantly less power consumption and cost savings.
Bringing benefits to both customers and the environment, Epson’s EcoTank printers use fewer consumables and replacement parts. This minimizes user intervention and resulting waste without compromising productivity and performance. To further alleviate environmental impacts, the L4200 and L6200 series’ hard plastic weight also consists of up to 30% recycled material.
New features: Smart Panel and Draft Vivid Mode
One of the key features introduced in the new EcoTank line-up for the home and small offices is the Epson Smart Panel*, an intuitive smartphone application that allows users to print, scan, copy and perform basic printer maintenance with just a few taps. With quick configuration elements, customers can use the Epson Smart Panel’s new chat format for a stress-free printer initialization and seamless Wi-Fi connection.

As education continues amid the pandemic, students who are learning remotely can use the Epson Smart Panel app to print and scan assignments via Google Classroom. The Access to Class feature on the Epson Smart Panel app connects to Google Classroom so students can directly print and complete their activity sheets, then scan it to turn it in the virtual classroom.
Draft Vivid Mode has also been added as a new print mode for the home and small office models. This new feature enables fast printouts with clearer print quality as compared to Draft Mode and is beneficial for users who wish to print good quality copies quickly.
Ideal for small office use, the L6260 and L6270 both come with improved front paper loading capacity of 250 sheets. Larger paper loading capacity contributes to lower intervention for a more efficient and stress-free working environment. In terms of print speeds, the L6270 and L6290 are developed to be better than its predecessor models with an increased speed of up to 15.5ipm for black-and-white prints and 8.5ipm for colour prints.
New Models: EcoTank for Business
The hybrid workplace is likely here to stay, and having a distributed workforce means giving employees new ways to print. Machines that are more compact, more mobile and have lower running costs will be key to manage efficient printing during a hybrid setup.
Epson introduced the L6400 series which features a more compact, robust design that easily fits into small to medium offices or shops. Its Heat-Free PrecisionCore printhead provides a reliable printing solution for high-speed printing that enhances productivity. Using Epson’s new 4-colour pigment inks, DURABrite ET Ink, these new models deliver sharp, clear, and water-resistant prints without compromising on cost. With the L6400 series, users will be able to save more as each set of bottle inks has a high page yield of 7,500 for black and 6,000 for colour, making it ideal for high-volume printing in corporate environments.
