Penang’s iconic and Southeast Asia’s fifth longest bridge was ‘overrun’ by throngs of enthusiastic runners during the annual ASICS Penang Bridge International Marathon 2016. Runners comprising international competitors, regional and local marathoners as well as amateur fun-runners raced across Penang’s first bridge in the early hours of the morning amidst a boisterous crowd of cheering spectators.
Now in its 31st edition, the annual international-class marathon race and sports carnival was organized by the Penang State Tourism Development authority and sponsored by ASICS, a true sport performance brand which has been behind this premier sporting event for the past five years.
